Community Engagement
As the Social Resilience Coalition has worked to identify the ideal location for a resilience hub in Cohasset, they have emphasized collaboration and community voice.
Members of the Coalition represent over 10 local and regional organizations coming together to bridge climate resilience with existing social services through volunteer days and pop-up events around town. See some of our work below:
Day at the Farm with Girl Scout Troop members, supporting Holly Hill Farm by sowing seeds, making compost, weeding, cultivating crops, transplanting seedlings, and harvesting and preparing produce for delivery to local food pantries.
Batching freshly-made pesto for distribution at the Cohasset Food Pantry using organic produce from Holly Hill Farm.
Serving Saint Patrick's Day lunch to those attending at Wilcutt Commons. Coalition members presented about the Coalition's activities, and chatted about climate resilience over the shared meal.
Tabling at the Health and Recreation Fair, asking attendees where they like to spend their time and what assets they'd like in their community gathering spaces and what they need to feel prepared for an emergency.
